Single-Cylinder Mounting Press
The routine laboratory default — one mounting station, fully configurable, right-sized for most quality labs.

Who it suits
- Laboratories whose measured cycle time and daily demand fit one station
- Quality departments with steady but moderate sample flow
- First mounting press purchases and replacements of manual units
- Budget- and bench-space-conscious installations
Why choose this architecture
- Simplest workflow: one station, one cycle, one operator touchpoint
- Lower investment and smaller footprint than multi-station machines
- Same configuration depth as larger machines — controls, heating, cooling
- A dual-cylinder upgrade path can be considered at specification time
Limitations and trade-offs
- The next mount waits for the full heat, cure, cooling and handling cycle
- Measured cycle time and productive shift duration set capacity — not a universal mounts/day number
- A compact footprint trades away the phase overlap available from a second station
Utilities and installation
- Electrical supply for heating and controls
- Plant air for pneumatic actuation, or no plant air for a hydraulic configuration
- Cooling water or a confirmed closed-loop arrangement where selected
Operational concept
One mould assembly runs the complete heat–cure–cool cycle per mount. Total throughput is therefore serialised: heating plus cooling plus handling per specimen. With water cooling and a semi-automatic cycle, a single station covers routine laboratory volumes comfortably; the throughput calculator shows where the limit sits for your cycle times.
Configuration possibilities
- Pneumatic or hydraulic actuation
- Mould diameters from 25 mm; interchangeable tooling optional
- Fixed to recipe-controlled pressure and temperature
- Fan-assisted to automatic water cooling
- Manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic cycle
Detailed technical specifications (dimensions, electrical load, cycle data) are defined per configuration and confirmed during engineering review — Mouldz does not publish generic catalogue values that may not apply to your machine.
Reference configuration from Multitek
Single-station reference configuration
Best suited to: Routine laboratory work where measured demand fits one complete mounting cycle at a time.
- Single mounting chamber in a compact bench format
- Published 25, 30 and 40 mm mould options on Multitek's current single-chamber reference
- Automatic heating and water cooling on the published reference
- Digital temperature, pressure and cycle controls
Reference capabilities describe the cited configuration, not every machine. Final specifications are confirmed against the customer RFQ.

- How many mounts per day can a single cylinder produce?
- It depends on measured heating, cooling and handling time, plus shift length and utilisation. The throughput calculator lets you enter those values; the result is a planning estimate, not a machine performance promise.
- When should I consider a second cylinder instead?
- Consider a second station when measured demand creates a persistent queue and the cycle phases can be overlapped — one mount cooling while the next heats. Use your own cycle data rather than a universal daily threshold.
